This charming town is located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains. It is full of character reflected in its traditional 16th century architecture and cobblestone streets. Bansko contains many Mehanas (traditional bulgarian taverns), hotel restaurants and street cafés which serve traditional Bulgarian cuisine.

Bansko is rightly famous for its beautiful tree lined pistes. It is a modern ski resort with a well-planned ski area that boasts 160 snow cannons. It caters for all levels of skiers and snow boarders. Bansko has 70km of ski runs and its longest run is 16km. The highest lift rises to 2560m.

Bansko is one of the most up and coming skiing location. With its beautiful and quant village setting it is a holiday makers paradise with fine restaurants, outstanding snow and skiing facilities.
Bansko also has a floodlit ice skating rink.
Nestled at the foot of the Pirin Mountain Range, Bansko is a traditional quaint village located in south western Bulgaria. Dating back to 100 BC, Bansko is steeped in both architectural history and mythical folklore, with a year-round tourist friendly climate which has led Bansko to become a centre of winter and summer tourism.

Summer:
Bansko is an all season resort, providing wide-ranging outdoor pursuits such as golf, fishing, mountain biking, horse riding, hill-walking, mountaineering, rafting and paragliding.

Bansko is also becoming popular as a summer resort. The Pirin National Park is on its doorstep providing superb hiking opportunities and great views of mountains, lakes and waterfalls. Fishing and horse-riding are also proving popular summer activities. There is a brand new Ian Woosnam designed golf course being built for 2007.

Bansko and the nearby villages are known for their healing mineral water springs, providing opportunities for rest and relaxation. The famous Rila monastery is also nearby and well worth a visit.
